Alamo Ranch Community Information

Area Attractions

Attractions in the Alamo Ranch area are plentiful. Two major theme parks—SeaWorld San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas—are within just a short drive. SeaWorld San Antonio offers shows, rides and slides, water play and animal attractions. The park is spread out over 250 acres, making it the largest of its kind in the world. Six Flags Fiesta Texas features a similar line-up of activities, just without the marine life theme. This park is known for its thrill rides, but visitors can also enjoy musical performances and shows. In the summer months, thrill seekers can race down the high-speed water slides at Six Flags' White Water Bay water park, which is adjacent to the main park.

Resort

Also close to Alamo Ranch is the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa. The resort is an ideal venue for celebrating special events or treating your out-of-town guests. The 27-hole golf course, designed by Arthur Hills, is just one feature of this high-end destination. Guests can also make use of the hotel's four-acre water park, tennis courts and full-feature spa.

Shopping, Dining & Entertainment

While Alamo Ranch residents have convenient access to neighborhood shopping centers and local entertainment, the city of San Antonio provides an even greater selection of dining, shopping and entertainment. Dining is equally diverse; you'll find the restaurant brands you know and love as well as many unique independents. Shopping venues run the gamut from quaint antique stores to high-end retail malls. Entertainment opportunities include fine and performing arts, outdoor activities, live music, comedy, nightlife, professional sports and historic sites. Historic sites include the Alamo and four other missions, River Walk, San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, St. Paul District and The Guenther House.

Education

Alamo Ranch's school-age students attend Northside Independent School District. Northside ISD has about 100 campuses located throughout greater San Antonio, serving a total enrollment of about 80,000. After high school, students have their pick of several colleges, universities and vocational schools located within San Antonio. The largest of these are the University of Texas at San Antonio and San Antonio College.
